What you're actually paying for
A landscape lighting price isn't just the fixtures. A professional install includes the design, professional-grade brass or composite fixtures, LED lamps, a properly sized transformer, direct-burial wire, connectors, and the labor to trench, hide the wire, aim each light, and set the timer.
Cheap big-box kits look similar on paper but use thin plastic housings and undersized wire that fail within a season or two. Professional-grade systems are built to last 15+ years, which is why the per-fixture number is higher.
What drives the price up or down
